Self-check-in touch-screens

Self-check-in touch-screens

Are you frustrated at having to queue at Reception to check-in for your in-person appointment?

You don't have to - we have two self-check-in touch-screens, one on either side of the building, allowing you to check-in.

You must be either:

1) no more than 20 minutes before your appointment time;

2) no more than five minutes after your appointment time;

^If you're outside either of these timegrames, please check-in at Reception (you will not be able to check-in using the self-check-in touch-screen, even if you try to do so).

All you need is your date of birth.

When asked to confirm if the appointment displayed is your appointment, if correct, choose 'Yes'; if incorrect, choose 'No'. It's important to do one of these things as instructional messages are displayed after you do so.

Why can patients check-in after their appointment if they're late?

As long as you are within 10 minutes of your appointment time, our healthcare professionals will still see you.*

Ok, so why can't I use the self-check-in touch-screens if I'm after five minutes late?

If you were to experience any difficulties using our self-check-in touch-screens, if we let you use it up to 10 minutes after your appointment time, by the time you'd reported to Reception to check-in, you'd then be after your appointment time so it'd then be up to who you were seeing, whether they'd be willing to see you (in the interests of fairness, we take the position that if you present at Reception over 10 minutes after your appointment time, that that is your arrival time, despite protestations that you'd tried to use the touch-screen prior to that and had been unsuccessful (whilst we think that patients are inherently honest, sadly some will exploit our kindness, which is why we take this stance, to avoid accusations of unfairness)).

*Please note: whilst you will be seen if you are late but within 10 minutes of your appointment time, this may have to wait until after patients who arrived on time for their appointment have been seen. This may mean a long wait and you will not be able to "leave and come back" (if you do, this will be treated as a 'walk-out' and taken as you deciding you do not wish to be seen). If you know you are going to be late arriving for your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so we can let who you are seeing know (staff will be as flexible as possible and will not make you wait for the sake of waiting, however are grateful for patients giving them the courtesy of letting them know that they are running late - we acknowledge that this may not always be possible).
